OVERVIEW

The 12-week Winter Spectacular Show Series is a Premier Hunter/Level 6 Jumper circuit that delivers world-class hunter, jumper and equitation competition in Ocala, Florida. The series includes 10 weeks of Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) competition. Highlights include the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Ocala, the Longines League of Nations™ second leg and CSIU25 classes during five select weeks. Hunter riders can look forward to Premier-rated competition all winter long, including two World Championship Hunter Rider (WCHR) weeks (Week V and Week IX), a $75,000 Hunter Spectacular (Week V), and a $75,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby (Week IX). Equitation riders will compete during Week VI in the 2026 WEC Premier Equitation Cup Championship, showcasing the nation’s top junior athletes.

This category includes factors like variety of classes provided, number of competitors, officials, management, staff, timeliness, course designs and jump variety.

Safety & Welfare

Aspects to consider here: Are all rules and regulations being adhered to? Is there an onsite veterinarian? Farrier? Emergency personnel? Is there adequate access to water for the horses? For longer competitions, are there any turnout or grazing areas to give horses downtime from the show environment?

Facility & Stabling

This category includes quality and size of stalls, security, storage space, number of schooling rings, arena sizes, ease getting in and out of the facility, additional amenities for long-term stays, video boards and livestreaming, the P.A. system and restroom availability.

Footing

Here, we consider the footing composite quality, drainage systems, level of dust, sand stability, watering frequency and whether footing is too slippery, hard or deep.

Atmosphere

This category looks at the spectator and VIP experiences, the show’s overall vibes, onsite vendors and quality of food and beverages.

Location

Lastly, we look at the location of the competition. Was it within easy driving distance from a major airport? For your region of competition, was it centrally located? Was it easy to find nearby lodging and meals? How was the traffic during your stay?
